Artistry in Silver and
Steel: Volume II Volume
II of “Artistry in Silver and Steel” contains the drawings and orders
for 365 spurs made by Adolph Bayers. Some of the last spurs he made, and
possibly some of his best, are included between these covers. In
addition to the spur pattern numbers 278 through 766, the book contains
more than 420 photographs of Bayers' spurs and the people who have owned them.
Also included are several short stories, reflecting some of the thoughts and
experiences of individuals who knew Mr. Bayers and who prized their
Bayers creations over the years.
Bayers' desire to cater to the working cowboy continues to shine through in
this volume. The cowboys were the first ones to order spurs from the
farmer who was making his creations in his little shop. Some of those
cowboys worked for the 6666 Ranch. These cowboys and the legendary 6666
Ranch are featured in this volume with information on the ranch’s
beginnings as well as operations today and some exceptional 6666 photos. Even
though most of Bayers’ polo spur customers were included in Volume I
with their orders for the popular 218 polo spur, there are a few orders in
this book for variations of that spur. Cowboys
to polo players, regardless of one’s lifestyle or occupation,
creativity, quality in workmanship and integrity, are things to be
valued. 453 pages, hard cover with dust jacket
